La Safor

The smallest village of la Safor has only 0’4 km2 and is completely surrounded by Gandia. Benirredrà is a place of tranquility, only altered by its cultural manifestations such as el Porrat or local festivals, as well as les Falles.

How to arrive
Surrounded by Gandia we will access to it from Valencia via the N-332, to take the CV-686 and exit towards Real de Gandia / CV-60 / L'Olleria / Gandia (South).
The Porrat de Sant Antoni takes place in the second week of January. In March, festivities in honour of Sant Josep, Les Falles (Las Fallas festival). Between 10th and 13th of August, the Major Festivities take place in honour of Sant Llorenç, de la Mare de Déu del Carme, Sant Lluís and el Sagrat Cor. Parades and processions are made.

Despite its volume, the town has architectural milestones such as el col•legi de les Esclaves, with an eclectic style, a mix of modernism and neo-gothic style with Mudejar brushstrokes. In addition, we have la Casa Gran, a symbol of the ancient feudal power and today used as a restaurant, and l’Església de Sant Llorenç (Church of Sant Llorenç) built in 1574.

The second week of January, Benirredrà is a not to be missed event in the region: El Porrat de Sant Antoni takes place and it is filled with cultural activities and food, crafts… and traditional games and la crema de la Foguera (the burning of the Fire).
